Basic medical care and food for a horse without special needs is about $1,700 annually. Our rescued mustangs often require extensive medical care during their first year of recovery at WHRC. Therefore, our mustangs incur on average a cost of almost $3,000 per year. We have around 50 horses to care for, so their basic care for one year is close to $150,000.
WHRC is completely dependent on donations from the public, and all donations are fully tax deductible. Upon making a donation, you will receive a tax deductible form for your records.
Our rescues often require extensive vet care and medications when they arrive at our facility. Your tax-deductible contribution insures we are able to provide the medical care these majestic animals deserve immediately upon arrival.
Your donations provide feed and hay for our mustangs and other rescue animals. Often malnourished, a steady, high quality diet is essential to begin the rehabilitation process.
A rescue center with our capabilities and capacity requires constant upkeep and care, just like our animals. Your contribution helps us maintain equipment, saddles, tooling, and so much more.
Volunteers are important to our rescue center – providing much needed help and allowing us to properly care for our rescued Mustangs.
As a rescue, we always rely on donations. Any kind of contribution, small or large, helps our animals.
